ABOUT US
For years, the Barbara Giordano Foundation has strived to provide women veterans with holistic healing modalities to manage the unique difficulties that they face, especially when returning home. Our goal is to provide access, free of charge, to proven wellness services for issues such as PTSD, MST, anxiety, depression that are either not readily available or too expensive.
WHO WE ARE
The Barbara Giordano Foundation is overseen by a Board of Directors. In addition to our Board of Directors, we have military advisers from all branches of service.
WHY DO WE CARE ABOUT WOMEN VETERANS?
WHY DO WE CARE ABOUT WOMEN VETERANS?
There are more than 3 million women veterans and yet most people say that they have never met a woman who has served
Women have participated in every conflict since the American Revolution–often without recognition for their service
Women veterans often experience PTSD or sexual trauma associated with their time in the military
More women veterans commit suicide than their male counterpart
WHO WAS BARBARA?
The Foundation is named in the honor of Barbara Giordano who had a long and much lauded career in health care and education. She was known as a Renaissance thinker who used modalities for healing that are just now being recognized as cutting edge, a consensus builder and true humanitarian. It was her vision that brought the work of this organization to fruition.
